Awards, Ribbons and Trophies of the 25th Annual New York International Orchid Show
The 25th Annual Show was judged by more than 60 American Orchid Society judges and international judges. There were 26 major trophies awarded, 30 American Orchid Society awards and plaques and ribbons in various categories. The Grand Champion Trophy for the Best Orchid in Show offered a $5,000 prize and 2 Best Exhibit in Show Trophies included cash prizes of $2,000 to $3,000. The

New York International Orchid Show was the first show in the United States to offer a fragrance competition. Of the thousands of orchids offered in displays, only the finest are selected for recognition. The Annual New York International Orchid Show is only second in the world to the Japan Grand Prix International Orchid Festival in Tokyo.
