Rockefeller Center Rink Capped for Orchid Show of 2005
The skating rink at Rockefeller Center was capped by a 60 foot high tent to create a space of almost 60 feet to cover the orchid filled arena from counties of all parts of the world. Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Canada, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, England and Japan… along with the United States participated in the show. Over 70 exhibitors displayed their finest specimens to an expected audience of 150-200,000 people. and gifts for sale to the attending orchid enthusiasts. There were 50,000 to 75,000 plants sold by leading international orchid growers. Complimentary lectures, workshops and daily tours were all part of the occasion.
