Fort Lauderdale is located on the southern end of the peninsula on the eastern Gold Coast of Florida. There are 23 miles of beautiful sandy beaches, some 3,000 restaurants, water-skiing, bicyclist paths, 300 miles of navigable inland waterways. Port Everglades, located near Fort Lauderdale, is the world’s premier cruise port with more home-ported ships and cruise lines than any other port in the world. 1953 and is the second largest duty-free port in the world. The port of call Half Moon Cay is a private island in the Bahamas owned by Holland America. This is a beautiful private tropical island in the Bahamas and is usually a full day stop on most Holland America’s eastern Caribbean cruises.
