The ice skating rink is the scene of movie making, blind dates and little kids learning how to skate. With its huge, gold statue of Prometheus, the ice rink is a favorite of tourists and New Yorkers alike. The rink is open every day of the week from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Admission to the ice rink is: adults, $10; seniors and students, $9. Rental skates are available or you can bring your own pair. New York International Orchid Show

The 2005 New York International Orchid Show celebrated its 25th Anniversary on the Rink at Rockefeller Center. The Show was hosted at Rockefeller Center by Tishman Speyer Properties and organized by the Greater New York Orchid Society. Each year, for the past 25 years, this annual event has graced the greater New York scene with a world class display of beautiful landscape ideas and a variety of orchids that ranged in the thousands.

Rockefeller Center Rink Capped for Orchid Show of 2005
The skating rink at Rockefeller Center was capped by a 60 foot high tent to create a space of almost 60 feet to cover the orchid filled arena from counties of all parts of the world. Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Canada, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, England and Japan… along with the United States participated in the show. Awards, Ribbons and Trophies of the 25th Annual New York International Orchid Show
The 25th Annual Show was judged by more than 60 American Orchid Society judges and international judges. There were 26 major trophies awarded, 30 American Orchid Society awards and plaques and ribbons in various categories.
