USA
USA or the United States of America is a centralized constitutional republic, which is comprised of fifty states. USA covers a considerable portion of North America, which includes Washington D.C and forty-eight contiguous states located between the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean enclosed by Mexico in the south and Canada in the north. Alaska is sited in the northwestern part of North America with Russia lying to its west, Canada lying to its east and Hawaii lying in the expansive mid-Pacific region. USA also includes a number of insular areas or territories, which dot the Pacific and the Caribbean Ocean.

The United States obtained land from Russia, Mexico, France and Spain during the nineteenth century and occupied the Republic of Hawaii and the Republic of Texas. Clashes between developed North and the agricultural South regarding the extension of the states’ rights and institution of slavery aggravated the 1860s American Civil War. Victory of the North stopped the stable divide of the country and put an end to the custom of slavery in USA forever. World War I and the Spanish-American War established the military power of the country and it became known as the first nation having nuclear weapons. The United States also became popular for being one of the permanent members of the notable United Nations Security Council. At present, USA, which was the only superpower that was left during the post-Cold War period, is famous worldwide as a major political, economic, cultural and military power of the world.

USA derived its name from the Italian cartographer and explorer Amerigo Vespucci and its full name was introduced formally for the first time in the Declaration of Independence. This nation spans the region the Pacific Ocean from the west to the Arctic Ocean in the east. Alaska is the biggest state in this region detached by Canada from the neighboring United States. The United States, a constitutional republic, is one of the biggest nations in the world in terms of the total area it covers. It is basically formed as one of the representative democracies despite the exclusion of voting right of the U.S. citizens for the federal bureaucrats. The government of the United States is synchronized by an organization of balances and checks determined by the constitution of the United States that is considered to be the highest legal text and the social contract for the citizens of USA. The United States is a centralized union that is comprised of fifty states. The thirteen states that actually comprised the United States were actually formed of thirteen colonies that revolted against the British power. The rest of the fifty states of the nation were formed from the land that was acquired by the government through war or purchased by the country.
